Saint Sophia is often associated with a 2nd-century martyr mother who reportedly witnessed her three daughters – Faith, Hope, and Charity – die for their faith before joining them in martyrdom. Her name, which means "wisdom" in Greek, reflects the very essence of her life: an enlightened, deep faith, rooted in trust in God despite the most painful trials.
